The PBX Operator provides accurate information to both internal and external customers and transfer calls accordingly.
Typical PBX Operator Duties:
Answer calls in a timely and professional manner.
Transfer calls to the appropriate department without delay.
Pages hospital staff members, physicians, and employees using the pager/beeper system in accordance with administrative policies.
Utilizes telephone and paging system effectively in normal and crisis situations.
Operates console in an efficient manner.
Maintains product and district standards as appropriate.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
